cultivated. No better wheat crops are produced anywhere in the northwest. Clover grows finely, and timothy aud other grasses flourish on the low lands and on

Apples, peaches, plums, pears, cherries, Ac., are successfully grown. All who bave tried the cultivation of
grapes have full faith in a high degree of success. I do
not expect this ever to become noted as a grape and
wine producing country, but that farmers may raise their
